Maintenance of Your Professional Website

Stadia Studio is happy to assist you with any maintenance requirements you may have for your site. Maintenance might include the occasional update of information, or regular addition of new information like products or services.

Security Releases and Available Updates

Every professional Drupal CMS implementation will require regular updates, but the frequency will vary from site to site. Some websites which do not have a lot of contributed modules installed may only need to be updated a few times a year, while other, more complicated sites, should be updated monthly. Every site that accepts payments through the site should be updated monthly. These updates include security releases for Drupal core and contributed modules, as well as maintenance releases which may provide bug fixes and/or additional functionality. When applying these updates, it is critical to understand what the update affects, if any other installed modules will be affected, and if any modifications were made to the installed module previously. Stadia Studio will perform these checks and make a complete backup of your website prior to applying any updates. Updates can also be applied after hours if needed and appropriate. Most updates can be applied within just 1 - 2 hours, if there aren't too many available updates to review.

To see what updates are available currently for your website, log in and go to Reports, then Available Updates and List. You will see a list of Drupal core and each installed contributed module. Modules in Green are up to date. Modules in Yellow have an available update, while modules in Red have a security release. The report will also indicate the currently installed version, and what versions are available. The Settings tab within the Report is there you can enter an email address to be notified of new updates, and the site will also display a message to you when you log in if there are updates and security patches available.

Content and Change Requests

It is critically important that you regularly review your site and update it with new content. First, visitors to your site want to know that if they come back, there will be something new for them to read or consider. Second, search engines know that visitors want new information, so frequently updated sites are rewarded with higher listings.

We can work with you to develop ways that you and your staff can quickly and easily update your site. Or, alternatively, we can create a maintenance contract where we would regularly make corrections or additions to your site as directed. Just let us know how we can help!

Contracts and Retainers

Monthly maintenance contracts are available, but we typically set up a retainer block of 10 or 20 hours which can be used towards whatever updates and maintenance you require. Retainer hours can be used toward any service we provide, and do not expire. At the conclusion of each retainer, a report is provided which details how the hours were spent, and a new retainer is established for future website maintenance needs.
